Youth, Women, Beginner, and Other Special Segment Entrepreneurship

The Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development (HBOR) offers the "Youth, Women, Beginner, and Other Special Segment Entrepreneurship" program with the aim of encouraging entrepreneurship development among young people, women, and beginners.

Loan beneficiaries:
 

  • Young entrepreneurs: Individuals under the age of 41 who own more than 50% of a business entity.
     
  • Women entrepreneurs: Women who own more than 50% of and manage a business.
     
  • Beginners: Business entities that have been operating for less than 3 years.
     
  • Other special segments: Entrepreneurs investing on islands, in mountain areas, in assisted areas, or in the commercialization of projects based on research, development, and innovation (RDI).

Loan purpose:

  • Investments in fixed assets (tangible and intangible property) with the aim of starting or modernizing operations, introducing new technologies, increasing capacity (including tourism capacity), developing new products or services, and encouraging new employment.
  • Working capital necessary for the implementation of investments and the growth of the loan beneficiary, up to a maximum of 30% of the agreed loan amount.

Loan amount:

  • Minimum amount: €50,000.
  • Maximum amount: €400,000.

Interest rate:

  • Base interest rate: 2.00% per annum, fixed.
  • Options for additional interest rate reduction:
    • Subsidy from a county, city, or municipality of up to 2 percentage points.
    • Use of a HAMAG-BICRO guarantee under the PLUS guarantee program, depending on the level of the guarantee.
    • For projects in line with the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), an interest rate reduction of up to 50% is possible through HAMAG-BICRO subsidies from NRRP funds.

Repayment period:

  • Up to 12 years, including a grace period of up to 3 years.

Security instruments:

  • Acceptable security instruments include various types of guarantees, pledges, or mortgages, depending on HBOR's assessment and the specifics of each individual application.
